Delacroix Report 7/12/2015

Tough fishing out of Delacroix today. The scourge of the Westerly winds continue. The water was low as we headed out this AM. We hit a deep water spot and started picking up small speckled trout right away on live shrimp carolina rigged. We had to wade through many small fish to get a few into the fish box. We hit a couple of shallow redfish coves and could not get the reds into the mood, but we did catch a few black drum and flounder on live shrimp 2′ under corks. We decided to head back inside and work more deep holes and got into a good bite on black drum, sheepshead and redfish. These fish wanted live shrimp carolina rigged on the bottom in 10 feet of water. We ran out of live shrimp and it started to get hot, so we decided to head in. Good time, but could not get the trout going today. Hopefully the weather will improve this week!
