Excellent fishing out in Breton Sound today. The weatherman got it right today. Light winds and seas made for an easy ride out and in with an ice chest full of trout and reds. The trout were ganged up at the rigs and wellheads deep in Breton Sound. We caught trout up to 4 lbs on live shrimp and croakers carolina rigged and free lined. The strong tide had the fish off, away from the structure. The trout action slowed and my guests bit on my bull redfish suggestion. We hit the spot and drags were screaming within 1 minute. These fish were huge, up to 35 lbs. The bulls wanted live shrimp, croakers or artificial cocahoes. We caught our limit and released until my guests screamed uncle. We made a move in to the outer bay and set up on a windward cove and finished our limit on slot reds. These fish were up to 26″ and wanted live shrimp or croakers 3 feet under corks. A very enjoyable day on the water. Sunday looks good early, but bad weather patterns are predicted for the afternoon and into mid week. Good luck out there!
