Excellent fishing today out of the Delacroix marsh! We hit a couple of spots before finding the right pattern, but started and finished the boats limit in the same place. The specks were very aggressive today, almost ripping the pole out of your hands. The fish were short striking alot and we would get up to seven hits before a solid hookup. The trout wanted live cocahoes and plastic cocahoes tightlined and slow rolled on the bottom. We were set up on the edge of a ledge dropping to 15 feet and plenty of oysters on the bottom. The plastic whipped the live today and the hot colors were alvacado, smoke and alvacado w/red tail. The tide was ripping hard and we were set up for a cross current presentation. The lures were fished on tandem 1/4 ounce jigheads and single 3/8 ounce jigheads. The live bait was best fished carolina rigged because the cocahoes would nestle into the oysters on a jighead. The trout ranged from 12-18″ and were solid fish. We had very few throwbacks considering the numbers of fish. The trout are still inside in the same old winter time holes. No need to run way out and burn alot of time and gas. The weather is looking iffy for the weekend, but Thursday looks like a go. Good luck out there!
